Portland Actors Ensemble announces 2015 season auditions for Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew.
We are looking for the casts of our summer season Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew. No roles have been pre-cast. Macbeth, directed by Matthew Pavik, will perform in the evenings among the real graves of Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery in SE Portland, and it should make for a magical production. The Taming of the Shrew, directed by Patrick Walsh, will be traveling throughout the metro area to bring joy to a wide variety of audiences and areas. Unfortunately, as the shows overlap, it will not be possible for an actor to appear in both productions. (But you may audition for both and let the directors fight over you.)
PAE has been producing Shakespeare-in-the-Parks productions in Portland for 46 years with the mission of providing financially accessible classical theater in a non-traditional environment. All shows are free and open to the public. Visit www.portlandactors.org for more information about the company and past productions.
Audition dates: Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1 from 1pm-4pm – auditions are by appointment only
Please bring 2 headshots and resumes if you are auditioning for both, 1 headshot and resume for auditioning for a specific show. Prepare up to two minutes of classical monolgue(s). Musicians are encouraged to audition as well. Please bring an instrument and be ready to play/sing.
