Hello everyone–hope you had a wonderful 4th of July holiday, and are enjoying all the great sunny weather!
We’re into our final rehearsals for Portland Actors Ensemble’s free Summer 2014 touring show production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which previews on July 11th and opens to the public on July 12th at Concordia University, the lawn area behind the library, at 7pm. The mechanicals, royals, young lovers and the fairies are all working hard to bring you a hilarious and delightful evening of entertainment!
Last Thursday, our student fairies came to watch the full show with the adult actors and run their blocking and lines, and they were fantastic! Kudos to them for a job very well done.
We like to start our rehearsals with a cheer: Go Shakespeare!
Waiting for their cue to enter, Wren Harmon and William Balmer pore over their scripts and carefully watch a scene in progress:
The Queen of the Fairies holds sway from her bower: Titania, played by Jen Elkington, and her student fairies, including William and Luke Balmer, Wren Harmon, and another student fairy.
You won’t want to miss a single minute of all the fun, so make plans now to bring your friends and family to see Portland Actors Ensemble’s free Summer 2014 touring production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, coming to a park near you in Portland!
You can read more about the show and cast list, check out our fab study guide created by our director, Douglas Lay, and find the Midsummer Night’s Dream show schedule, which includes ASL interpreted and audio-described performances for select shows, and make your plans now–we perform for you every weekend from July 12 through Labor Day!
